"Protection against cyber attacks, from IBM and other vendors, focus
primarily on restriction of access to a site, encryption of data in transit
and password protection to permit only authorized users in an
application. Despite such security, the media is replete with daily
stories of hackers who manage to enter and trash web sites, destroy data
and steal information (credit card numbers, passwords, cookie-encoded entry keys)
resulting in billions of dollars in losses.
Sanctum developed an additional security point to more thoroughly protect web sites and
web associated data (i.e. cookies, html text) by securing pages and applications
with a propriety protection scheme for even authorized users (who might be in fact
stolen ids and passwords) in a system.
The effect is that web pages are protected from changes; web servers are protected from
other forms of hacking that crash web sites; applications are protected
from a wide variety of hacking techniques that are known to destroy or
steal information."
