       Santa Clara, Calif. - May 7, 2001 -
Sanctum, Inc., the established leader in Web application control and security
software, today announced it has received OPSEC (Open Platform for Security)
certification for its AppShield 3.0 from Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.
(Nasdaq: CHKP), the worldwide leader in securing the Internet. With this
certification, AppShield 3.0 will seamlessly interoperate with Check Point's
industry-leading VPN-1/FireWall-1 and provide a single point of proactive
alert monitoring for network and Web application security violations.

The first solution to provide eBusinesses and Service Providers with continuous,
autonomous protection against Web application perversion, AppShield secures Web
sites by detecting, blocking, logging and alerting administrators to any type of
application manipulation through the browser. AppShield enables enterprises to
focus developer resources on new products and services rather than debugging and
	  patching existing applications.

"In providing customers the tools to defend against malicious attacks at
every level, it's imperative to offer technology that can be easily integrated
into a company's existing security," said Peggy Weigle, CEO of Sanctum. "As
an OPSEC certified partner, Sanctum ensures interoperability with the industry-leader
in Internet security, VPN-1/FireWall-1 solutions-supporting customers' needs
for a bullet-proof security infrastructure, both at the application and network layer."

AppShield uses the OPSEC Event Logging API (ELA) to send Web application specific
security event notifications to Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1. When AppShield
detects any unauthorized behavior at the application level, it sends an alert
identifying the computer that initiated the attack as well as the duration
of the violation. The administrator can then analyze these alerts and terminate
the malicious connection. This combined technology provides joint customers
with a centralized monitoring and control capability to proactively prevent
	   network and application-level hacking.

"We are pleased to see Sanctum achieve OPSEC certification for its AppShield solution,"
said Bradley Brown, director of business development for Check Point Software
Technologies. "The integration of AppShield with Check Point's VPN-1/FireWall-1
offers customers a best-of-breed Web content security solution for proactively
detecting and preventing malicious attacks at the Web application and network level."
