Application Security Market Leader Joins Forces with Authorities in Government, Security and Financial Services
Santa Clara, CALIF. July 28, 2003 -
Sanctum, Inc., the established leader in automated Web application security firewall
and testing software, today announced the formation of the Sanctum Advisory Board.
Charter members include Richard Clarke, former Cybersecurity advisor to the President;
Frank Fanzilli, former Credit Suisse First Boston Global CIO; and Terry Benzel, former
vice president of Advanced Security Research for Network Associates, Inc.
"The convergence of regulatory compliance, including current laws like SB1386
and upcoming legislation such as BASEL II in Europe, with the risk of identity theft
and the overall explosion of Web content has resulted in the mandatory requirement
for CEOs to be accountable for the security of all information residing on and behind
their Web sites. We've made great strides in furthering the national agenda to make
cybersecurity a top priority, but need to continue to look to innovative, proven
products to better manage corporate security risk," said Richard Clarke. "Having
followed Sanctum for the last two years, I'm pleased to be a part of elevating
the business issue that we are so passionate about solving."
Sanctum has dominated the application security market with innovative technology
for more than five years and remains the only vendor to deliver patented application
security solutions for the entire application lifecycle. As Sanctum continues
to deliver world-class solutions, the Advisory Board will play a key role in
advising the executive team on emerging industry trends in the private and public
sector, extending strategic business partnerships and offering feedback on future
product directions.
"Our ability to attract leaders in the industry to advance Sanctum's goal of educating
the market and delivering proven application security solutions is testament to both
the serious nature of the widespread security threats we're facing today and Sanctum's
proven leadership to help solve the problem. I look forward to working with this
illustrious group to benefit our enterprise customers as well as further Sanctum's
ongoing success with both our AppShield and AppScan product families," said
Peggy Weigle, CEO of Sanctum.

and expanded processing to all major European exchanges; expanding the Firm's Global
Trading and Settlement systems; launching CSFB's first global investment banking
platform; and consolidating CSFB's far-reaching IT resources (including
over 4,000 IT professionals and two billion in spending) into a single,
unified global division. Prior to CSFB, Fanzilli spent five years at IBM where
